Android, payments and VAS services: Moneynet chooses Ingenico Android and TaaS solution!

Text

Ingenico, a global leader in payments, is pleased to announce its new partnership with Moneynet, the Italian Payment Institute. With over 6.6 million Android payment terminals sold worldwide, Ingenico is delighted that Moneynet has chosen its Android smart terminals to accept digital payments and provide value-added services to its customers.

Thanks to its flexibility and ease of programming, Android has become an incisive facilitator of new business opportunities in the payments market. The range of potential applications is vast, creating the opportunity to integrate management systems with advanced and alternative payment methods.

By offering innovative and vertical solutions to its customers (merchants), Moneynet is aiming to boost their activity by ensuring a smooth uptake of Android applications through the cloud. Moreover, the user experience is smarter and streamlined, enriching the shopping experience for both the merchant and the end user. In this way, the terminal at the Point-of-Sale becomes a real point of interaction between the merchant and the consumer.

Moneynet, a payment institution authorised by the Bank of Italy and now part of the IVS Group, has always been strongly committed to technological progress and attentive to innovations. The choice of Ingenico as a trusted partner aims to offer its merchants a single, all-in-one Android solution, providing several services integrated with new value-added business Apps. In addition to fidelity cards, eWallets, top-ups, gift cards and bill payment, other applications will follow in the coming months.

Through partnership with Ingenico, Moneynet will be able to leverage the technology and experience of a worldwide leader, using their synergy for the benefit of Italian merchants who will be able to grow their business by offering multiple value-added services directly from the Android smart terminal.

The project, which saw the first installations of Ingenico's APOS A8 payment terminal in December 2020, will be completed in 2021 with 3,000 devices expected to be operational in retailers by the end of the year.

The partnership between Ingenico and Moneynet is based on Ingenico's new business model, Terminal as a Service (TaaS). This model provides tailored services that include technical support, maintenance and software support, alongside traditional hardware services. By outsourcing its estate management to one single partner, Moneynet has reduced payment complexity, allowing it to deliver value-added services and focus on growing its business.

The benefits of Android are considerable, taking merchant payments to the next level. The state-of-the-art user experience and functionalities derived from the Ingenico APOS A8 will soon be improving the portability of all the services running on Moneynet’s network, enabling further business opportunities for their customers.
